It makes sense, then, that CDPR would want to try out new technology while building the next chapter in its Witcher saga. While many of the performance and graphical hiccups have since been addressed, particularly in Cyberpunk 2077's transformative 1.5 patch, some troubles continue to linger here and there. Notoriously, the title launched with widespread issues in late 2020, with even high-end PCs struggling to consistently provide a solid performance. The studio's tried and true REDengine seemed a good match for Cyberpunk 2077 at first blush, but ultimately proved problematic in many respects.
